TLO #5: Developing a Personal Brand

Developing an online personal brand is important for success in your industry as it helps establish your credibility, showcase your skills and expertise, and expand your network. It provides a platform to differentiate yourself from others, demonstrate your value to potential employers or clients, and opens up new opportunities for growth and advancement. An effective online personal brand can also lead to increased visibility and recognition, helping you stand out in a competitive job market and advance your career.

The Teacher:

Reflecting on my experience of building a personal brand, I am proud to say that I have made significant progress. Through consistent efforts in building my online presence and social influence on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn, I have been able to raise awareness of my abilities and broaden job opportunities. It has also opened opportunities for me to take on small scale projects for people who require 3D printing or 3D scanning services.

I have also received numerous positive feedback from people who have seen my content online. On several occasions, I have met new people, usually students, who mention that they have found my SolidWorks tutorials to be extremely helpful for their engineering courses. They express their gratitude towards me for creating and sharing such valuable content on YouTube and LinkedIn.

The idea of building a personal brand was the starting point for me to raise awareness of my abilities and broaden job opportunities. The task was to establish an online presence and social influence through networks such as YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The actions taken were consistent efforts in building my personal brand, posting and engaging with the community, focusing on my network, networking with people in the field, constantly aiming to improve my skills and abilities, creating value by producing tutorials and sharing knowledge for free, and positioning myself as a point of authority.

The result of these actions has been impressive with almost 1500 subscribers on my YouTube channel and positive feedback from my audience. I have also had the opportunity to take on small scale projects for people who require 3D printing or 3D scanning services. Additionally, the feedback I have received from people who have seen my content online has been highly encouraging.

The learning points from this experience include the importance of consistency, engaging with the audience, focusing on my network, networking with people in the field, constantly improving skills and abilities, creating value, and positioning oneself as a point of authority. These learning points are all tied back to the task of raising awareness of my abilities and broadening job opportunities, and demonstrate how building a personal brand can be an effective way to achieve those goals.

In conclusion, I would like to invite my audience to take advantage of the wealth of information and resources available on my channel by subscribing and joining my community. Let us continue to learn and grow together.

I created the logo for DraftID which means "Draft Industrial Design". A pencil is shown in 3rd angle projection which is in reference to my technical drawings skills.
