The eufyMake E1 has two ways to line up a print: the camera snapshot most people use, and zero point alignment. If you print on jigs, in batches, near the edges of the bed or on tall objects, zero point alignment is the one that gets you repeatable, millimetre-accurate placement. Here’s what it is and how to set it up.

The short version

  • What it is: calibrating the printer to the green 0,0 corner of the bed mat, so you can place artwork by X/Y measurement.
  • Why: the camera snapshot distorts towards the bed edges and struggles with tall objects and some jigs.
  • Setup: Device > Calibration > Zero point calibration: auto calibration, then the offset print check.
  • Do it on a clean mat, ideally when the printer is new, and repeat for the large A3 bed.

Snapshot vs zero point

Snapshot uses the onboard camera to photograph the bed so you can drag artwork onto objects. The newer smart object detection even auto-crops and batches onto multiple identical items. But a camera lens distorts towards the edges, and some jig surfaces (like the ULTIM8 jig’s colour) confuse object detection. Zero point skips the camera: you position artwork by distance from the bed’s 0,0 corner, which is far more precise for jigs and tall items.

How to calibrate

  1. Fit the small bed, lock it in and close the door. Use a clean mat with no ink on it and nothing on the bed.
  2. In eufyMake Studio go to Device > Calibration > Zero point calibration.
  3. Run auto calibration (1 to 2 minutes). This alone gets you to about 1 mm accuracy.
  4. Continue to offset calibration. It prints a small corner mark 10 mm x 10 mm from the 0,0 point (3 to 5 minutes, and a negligible amount of ink).
  5. Measure the mark with a small ruler. If it’s not exactly 10 x 10, enter what you measured so it can compensate, then confirm.
  6. Swap to the large A3 bed and repeat.

How to use it

  1. In your project, set print alignment to Zero point instead of camera.
  2. The 0,0 point is the bottom corner shown in the bed view. Enter your artwork’s X and Y position measured from it.
  3. Example: for a 100 x 100 mm object whose corner sits 50 mm in each direction, size the artwork 100 x 100 (unlink the ratio) and position it at 50, 50.

My quick test on a hand-measured coaster landed within about 1 mm. With a proper jig, where every position is known, it’s spot on across the whole bed.
