This policy explains what personal information DraftID collects through draftid.com.au, how it is used, and how you can access or change it. DraftID is a design and digital fabrication studio on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. If you have any questions, email idea@draftid.com.au.
What we collect
- Quote and contact enquiries. When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, the service you are asking about, your delivery preference, your message, and any files you upload (for example STL, STEP, SVG or PDF files).
- Delivery details. If we make something for you, we collect the details needed to deliver it, such as a postal address and phone number.
- Newsletter sign-ups. Newsletter subscriptions are handled by Substack. When you subscribe, your email address is collected and stored by Substack under its own privacy policy.
- Comments. If you comment on a post, we collect the name, email address and comment you submit, along with your IP address to help prevent spam.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider and security software record basic information about visits, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To make, deliver and support the work you order.
- To send the newsletter, if you have subscribed.
- To protect the website from spam, abuse and security threats.
Files you upload are used only to quote and complete your job. We do not use your designs for anything else, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information where it is needed to run the site or complete your job:
- Hostinger hosts this website. Its servers are located outside Australia (currently in Singapore).
- Wordfence provides security for the website and may process visitor IP addresses to block attacks.
- Google provides Google Analytics, which we use to measure how visitors use the site (see below).
- Substack manages newsletter subscriptions (based in the United States).
- Couriers and postal services receive your name, address and phone number when we ship an order.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies, embedded videos and links
This site does not use advertising cookies. WordPress and our security software may set small functional cookies needed for the site to work and stay secure.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this site, for example which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country or city), what device they use and whether a quote request was sent. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes this information on Google’s servers, which may be outside Australia. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with your enquiry details. Visitors in the UK and Europe are asked before any analytics cookies are set, and can decline. You can also opt out on any site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Some pages include embedded YouTube videos. When you play an embedded video, YouTube (Google) may collect information and set cookies under its own privacy policy.
Some posts include links to products and services, and some of these are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the retailer may record that you came from this site, and DraftID may earn a commission. That retailer’s own privacy policy applies once you leave this site.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and order information for as long as needed to respond, complete the work, provide support and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations. Uploaded files are deleted when they are no longer needed for your job, unless you ask us to keep them for repeat orders.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing idea@draftid.com.au. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Questions and complaints
If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact us first at idea@draftid.com.au and we will respond as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
